Our Camper Vans and Motor Homes do very low kms, plus we do all the cleaning personally so we can keep in our fleet for longer than any larger company.

How big are the beds?

Hi top Camper Vans: convertible dinette into a double bed. 

Leisure Campers: fixed double bed with orthopaedic mattress.

How large are the water tanks?

Hi top Camper vans: 65 litres

Leisure Campers: 80 litres


Which Campers offer air-conditioning in the rear cab while sleeping & will it work off the solar panels?

Air conditioning features in the front cabs of each Camper while driving. 

There are no rear air conditioners.
12 volt fans do feature in all Campers.

What is an awning?

An awning is a fixed shade that can be assembled from the side of the camper. Instructions are in the handover video and hard copy manual.
Hi top Camper vans: yes, a roll out, bag awning.
Leisure Campers:  no, as the rear side doors offer sufficient shade when up.

How do the solar panels work & where are they on the Camper?

The solar panels are fixed to the roof and charge the battery when ever in the sunlight.

Will the driving battery ever get drained by using the rear cab lights?

No, it will not get drained.

All of our campers are 2WD

Do you provide linen?

Yes, we provide linen. 2 double sheets, 2 pillows, double doona, mattress protector (Leisure Camper), 2 beach towels, 2 face washers, 2 personal towels.

Which vans offer an automatic transmission?

All are automatics.

What are the vehicle driving features & specs on each Camper?

Which Camper offers a shower and a toilet?

Sorry, none of our campers offer a shower or toilet. However upon request can arrange an extra ensuite shower and toilet tent. This would be of extra charge.



How can I play Music & charge my phone?

What is your COVID cancellation policy?

Cancellations 60+ days prior to pick up – 40% of the deposit will be refunded.


Cancellations between 60 – 14 days prior to pick up – 25% of the deposit is refunded.
Cancellation under 14 days full deposit is retained.
If cancelled on the day of pick up or no show, customer is liable for full hire balance due.


Alterations: cancelled nights are subject to the above conditions.
Changes to hire dates are subject to availability.
Cancellations due to Government COVID-19 restrictions the above conditions apply.

Do I need a specials driver’s licence to drive in Australia?

A current motor vehicle drivers license if required and must be submitted before vehicle collection. Should a foreign license be in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by an international license.

What is the minimum hire period?

We do not have a minimum hire period.

How do I secure my camper - pay the deposit?

50% deposit is required to secure a hire.
This is all processed securely online through our web site with a Credit card.

Hire cancellation, refunds and alterations?

When is the final balance due & how can I pay this?

Final balance is due 14 days before arrival. An automated email from "Bookingmood" will be sent to you to make final payment of balance due and bond.

How much is the bond & excess?
  • Bonds on all vehicles is $1,000
  • Insurance excess on all vehicles is $10,000.
What happens if I severely damage the camper?

The customer is liable for the $10,000 insurance excess unless the excess reduction has been pre purchased before the hire has commenced. Unless our conditions have been breeched, ie, driving out of town limits between sunset and sunrise, driving though any bodies of water, speeding, drink driving, drug driving, driving on unapproved roads, for example.

Should I request any extra insurance with my provider?

To cover our excess, travel insurance with camper van cover is highly recommended.

How old do I need to be to drive and is there a maximum age?

We can hire to customers from the age of 25 years - 75 years. Drivers outside of this age bracket, please enquire direct with the Exmouth Camper hire office

How does the rate work?

Nights booked over 6 are discounted by 5%.
8 nights @ 10%
10 nights @ 13%
14 nights @ 17%
20 nights @ 22%
30 nights @ 30%.
Rate includes 150 kms per night fee. Kms there are 35 cents per km.
* Discount does not apply to one way fees, hire fees, weekend/public holiday fees or excess kms.

Can I get a refund for dropping off a day earlier?

Earlier return are calculated as per our hire cancellation, refund and alteration policy.

Can I book or pay online?

Yes, you can book and securely pay online via our camper vans page.

What is a bond & how does it work?

The bond is required 14 days before pick up and is held in security during your hire. Damages and excess kms will be deducted from this with the bond refunded with in 10 working days unless otherwise notified.

Do you offer any insurance reductions?

Yes, for $35/night we can offer an insurance excess reduction from $10,000 to $5,000. We do highly recommended customers to purchase their own travel insurance to cover the excess.

Are there any extra charges?
  • Excess kms : 35 cents per kmsAfter hour pick up or drop off on Saturday, Sunday or Public holiday : $50

  • Key recovery : $250 plus 35 cents per km charge from Exmouth camper hires depot.

How many kms am I entitled to?

You are allocated 150 kms per night free. 

So, over a 7-night hire, 7 x 150kms = 1050 kms free. Kms thereafter are calculated at 35 cents per km.

Can I drive the campers into Karijini National Park?

Yes, you can drive our campers into Karijini National park however some day use areas are still off limits for our campers as roads are our 3km of unsealed.

Restricted areas include :

  • Hamersley gorge
  • Kalamina gorge
  • Banjima drive north
  • Hamersley road
  • Hamersley/Mount Bruce road
  • Rio Tinto rain access road
  • Millstream National park
Can I drive at night?

No, our insurance does not cover driving between sunset and sunrise outside of city (or town) limits and we strongly advise to plan to make your destination by Sunset.

This is due to stations in the North West not having fences with both Cattle and Sheep on the road as well as natural wildlife (kangaroo in particular become active late afternoon and through the night). Out of town limits is where the speed limit increases to 60km+/hour

Can I drive from Exmouth to Coral Bay along the coast?

No, you can not drive from Exmouth to Coral Bay along the Ningaloo Coastal Road as 4WD from south Yardie Creek along the Ningaloo Coastal Reserve.

Pick-up and drop-off times?

Exmouth Camper Hire have a 2pm pick up time and 10am drop off time. However we will let you know if we are able to correspond with flights in and out of Learmonth closer to the time.

Do I have to return my camper with a full gas bottle and fuel tank?

Gas, no. Fuel, yes

How do I get from Learmonth to my Camper or vice versa?

Exmouth Bus Charters operates an Airport Shuttle Service from Learmonth and Exmouth town for every flight.

With Learmonth being 35kms from Exmouth, this is the most cheapest and reliable way to get to and from your Camper at our town depot.

What should I expect on arrival?

All hires are contactless.Your camper will be waiting out the front of the Exmouth Camper hire depot with key instructions sent via defaulted email from "Bookingmood" or text message prior pick up.
